The New England Patriots are hiring former Chicago Bears interim head coach and offensive coordinator Thomas Brown to be their tight ends coach and pass game coordinator, per NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero.

Mike Vrabel is stacking his coaching staff with experience. The Patriots are bringing in another veteran offensive coordinator.

Brown will serve as the tight ends coach and pass game coordinator, while Marrone’s title is still to be announced.

Brown, 38, will serve as the Patriots’ tight ends coach and passing game coordinator, per sources. Following a three-year playing career with the Falcons and Browns, Brown went into coaching at Georgia in 2011.
