The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Red Flag Warning across the DMV on Friday. This comes after weather conditions are forecasted to be dry with low humidity throughout the day. The warning was placed as these weather conditions can contribute to the rapid spread of fires.

The National Weather Service issued its statement Friday morning as the New Jersey Forest Fire Service was already battling at least three sizeable wildfires.

Multiple wildfires in New Jersey prompted a smoke advisory and stretched firefighters to the limits as flames burned from the Pinelands in the central and western parts of the state to the New York City suburbs.
