Federal authorities have joined the manhunt in Wisconsin for 47-year-old Virgil Thew, who is the prime suspect in the killing of a woman and two girls in New Lisbon.

A Wisconsin statewide crime alert has been issued for a suspect in a triple murder in New Lisbon earlier this week. Virgil G. Thew, 47, is wanted through Wisconsin Probation and Parole and is now wanted for three counts of first-degree intentional homicide.

The New Lisbon Police Department posted an update Monday as law enforcement continues its search for a suspect in a triple homicide.

New Lisbon PD issued the alert Friday evening, saying Thew is now charged with three homicides after the bodies were discovered at a home in the 300 block of West Bridge Street at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.
