New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is living a lifelong dream. It all started with him being the No. 3 overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft to taking over as the starting quarterback for the Patriots.

Drake Maye is more than familiar with his new offensive coordinator. When the quarterback came to New England last year, he dove into his new playbook but also watched game film from past Patriots seasons. As it turns out, those film sessions will come in handy this season when Maye is coached by Josh McDaniels for the first time.

I think the biggest thing is he’s been a head coach, and he knows what it’s like. So (I’m) excited to get up to New England and get things going.”

Over the last few weeks, the New England Patriots have undergone quite a change, firing head coach Jerod Mayo, hiring Mike Vrabel to take his spot and building out a staff to support the new head coach in 2025.

Drake Maye’s rookie season was undeniably promising. The 22-year-old out of North Carolina completed 66.6% of his passes for 2276 yards in 12 games, tossing 15 touchdowns to 10 interceptions with a lackluster supporting cast. Maye also ran for 421 yards and 22 first downs, and was a late addition to the Pro Bowl games.
