Veterans Day is Nov. 11 and every year the nation comes together to honor and celebrate those who have served their country in the armed forces. In San Diego, Veterans Day holds special meaning seeing as the region is home to a large number of active-duty military personnel.

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Veterans Day Parade has been around for more than three decades. Its a day when the community unites to pay their respects to those who have served in the military. “I mean they truly are American heroes, they are the patriots that have really guaranteed our freedoms,” San Diego Veterans Day Parade Chair David Koontz said.

The Gaston County’s Veterans Day in Dallas followed by a ceremony at the Historic Dallas Courthouse, located at 131 N. Gaston St. The Cherryville’s Veterans Day parade on Main Street and a closing ceremony will take place at the Gazebo Mini Park following the parade.
