Stefanik, one of the highest ranking Republicans in the House and a close Trump ally, was nominated for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Multiple sources told CBS that the GOP was concerned about its narrow majority in the House, sparking discussions about having Stefanik withdraw from consideration.
