Matthew Knies joins a long list of injured Leafs that has had a trickle-down effect on the rest of the lineup.

Matthew Knies was injured in the second period of Toronto's game Wednesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Knies struggled to get up from the ice after colliding with Blue Jackets forward Kirill Marchenko and did not return to the game. Knies was ruled out with what the Maple Leafs called an upper-body injury.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will play Monday night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning without forward Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty will be absent due to an upper-body injury that he sustained after taking a shot to the side of the head in Saturday's 7-3 comeback win against the Montreal Canadiens.

Toronto forward Max Pacioretty has been ruled out for the Maple Leafs' game Monday night against the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning because of an upper-body injury. Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube said after Pacioretty missed practice on Monday morning that the 17-year veteran won't play and his status for returning is day-to-day.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will have to play on without the services of veteran forward Max Pacioretty for the time being. On Monday morning, the team officially announced that Pacioretty would not participate in the team’s morning skate due to injury.
