Western Maryland may see precipitation begin as a wintry mix Monday morning, as temperatures there will still be cold enough to support frozen precipitation. Most other areas are expected to see rain. High temperatures on Monday will reach near 40°F before dipping into the upper 30s on Tuesday.

Most of the state is under a cold weather advisory, with the far western edges of the state under an extreme cold warning from the National Weather Service.

Most of the rain will begin tapering off by sunset Friday as drier air starts to move in. Skies will gradually clear overnight, setting up for a drier and calmer start to the weekend.
