Clemson fired Wes Goodwin as its defensive coordinator in January. He joined Oklahoma and Brent Venables, meaning his buyout will be reduced.

Goodwin’s decision to reunite with Venables had been widely speculated in the wake of his departure from Clemson, where he had spent much of the past 16 years contributing to the Tigers’ defensive success.

Goodwin had been linked with the Oklahoma program after he was let go at Clemson earlier this month. Former Sooners defensive coordinator Zac Alley left for the same job at West Virginia.
