Red Wings’ Dominik Shine finally has his moment: ‘Something I’ll cherish forever’
Coming out of college as an undrafted free agent in 2017, he signed with the Red Wings’ AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids. He’s been a mainstay there for the Griffins ever since: playing 462 regular season games, and 19 more in the playoffs. For years, he’s been through training camps and preseasons with the team — right there on the doorstep.
Red Wings' Dominik Shine: Inks two-year contract
Shine signed a two-year contract with Detroit on Monday, Shine's new deal goes through the 2025-26 season. He has 11 goals and 32 points in 40 games with AHL Grand Rapids this campaign. The 31-year-old Shine could make his NHL debut in Monday's game versus the Kings if Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) is unavailable.
The Detroit Red Wings were happy to bank two points, and just as happy to see Dominik Shine make NHL debut at age 31.
