It was Boston’s 14th straight victory over the Sharks.
Morgan Geekie scored for the Bruins (23-20-6), who are 3-1-1 in their past five games. Jeremy Swayman allowed four goals on 29 shots in two periods. He was replaced by Joonas Korpisalo (five saves on six shots) at the start of the third period.
Korpisalo, who was sent to the Bruins in the deal that brought Linus Ullmark to Ottawa, has shown marked improvement in Boston. He has an 8-4-2 record with the Bruins, a .892 save percentage, and a 2.47 goals-against average.
Early in the season, the Bruins players were preaching calm and patience even when they were struggling. Because they’d experienced so much success in recent years, they sounded confident that things would eventually click.
