Interstate 10 from the Alabama and Florida State line in Pensacola to Exit 192 closed in both directions Wednesday at 7 p.m., according to Florida 511. Authorities expect ice and snow to freeze on the roadways, creating dangerous driving conditions.
Interstate 10 from the Louisiana-Texas state line to as far east as Sorrento or Gramercy could be fully open to traffic in both directions at some point Thursday afternoon, Department of Transportation and Development Secretary Joe Donahue said.

“Since the temps went back down to freezing, there have been five vehicles spin and slide on the icy bridge!!!” The Pascagoula Police Department posted on its Facebook page. “The driving conditions are dangerous right now. First responders are placing barricades on both sides to warn motorists not to drive on the bridge.”
Forecasters said it was too early to tell whether the ice and snow would approach or beat Tallahassee’s all-time snowfall record of 2.8 inches set in 1958.
The Interstate 10 closure spans nearly the entire state, ending west of the Mississippi state line east of New Orleans.
Crews are working a semi truck fire on Interstate 10 eastbound at the Cecil Commerce Center Parkway exit. Drivers should expect delays in the area.

PHOENIX — The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 from Chandler to central Phoenix will be closed this weekend due to a traffic shift. The Arizona Department of Transportation said the closure will take place between the Loop 202 freeway to Interstate 17.
