CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns let Mike Vrabel out of his consulting agreement early on Monday so he could get a jump on the 2025 head coaching cycle, and five days later, he’s interviewing for the Jets’ vacancy today.

Less than one week after firing Jerod Mayo as their head coach, the New England Patriots appear to be closing in on their next franchise leader. At least, that is how oddsmakers see it, with Mike Vrabel slowly becoming the sizable betting favorite to land the job.

The New England Patriots plan to interview Mike Vrabel for their vacant head coach position on Thursday, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. Vrabel was most recently a coaching and personnel consultant for the Cleveland Browns this past season. He was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2018-2023.
