The family of a woman who died after being pushed into a BART train in San Francisco is suing the agency, alleging BART is responsible for allowing crime at its stations and trains.

The family of a Daly City woman who was fatally pushed into the path of a BART train in San Francisco last year is suing the agency for wrongful death and elder abuse, alleging that the transit operator’s failure to address riders’ safety needs led to Corazon Dandan’s passing.

"BART, you're on notice. You have to make riders safer." The Dandan family says while the transit agency has made improvements since Corazon's death, there are still more things they would like to see done.

The family of a Daly City woman who was pushed to her death in front of an oncoming BART train in San Francisco last summer is suing the transit system, alleging officials failed to keep riders safe and prevent crime in stations and on trains.

Corazon Dandan was waiting for a BART train at the Powell Street station in San Francisco when she was pushed to her death in the summer of 2024. Now her family is taking legal action against Bay Area Rapid Transit District demanding that the public transit system improve safety for all riders.

The family of a telephone operator killed after she was pushed into an oncoming BART train in San Francisco filed a wrongful death suit alleging the transit agency "enables horrific crimes" to occur on platforms and trains and that BART is a "complete failure" when it comes to taking action for safety.
