A rare congregation of stars will be on display when the Ranji Trophy resumes on Thursday with big names such as Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant agreeing to show up for their respective sides, nudged primarily by the BCCI's stern diktat on respect for domestic cricket.

Under-fire India skipper Rohit Sharma, who has been going through a horrid run as batter as well as captain in recent months, will be making his first domestic appearance in eight years during Mumbai’s upcoming Ranji Trophy meeting with Jammu and Kashmir.

Form has deserted the 37-year-old Rohit in the past few months with Test losses to New Zealand (at home) and Australia (away) weighing heavily on him currently.

Some of the biggest names in Indian cricket, also part of India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, are set to feature in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, starting on January 23.
