Aug 1, 2007 · A tractor or a skidsteer comes in handy to move the non lit piles of brush around or to create a buffer zone between the fire and the surroundings. I removed all the grass down to dirt around the fire pit for our buffer zone. I also use 2-3 Fire Stick (for camping) to lit the fires. Don't burn wet wood and burn a hot fire for least amount of smoke.

Jun 25, 2018 · You need the fire to get going for a bit of time to dry out the green brush then it will burn. The problem with accelerants on green brush is it burns off before the wood can get going. The same will happen with kindling and paper. If you don’t have a leaf blower a lawn mower with the discharge pointed at the fire will work too.

Jan 24, 2008 · The main problem is getting the chips to consistant size so feeding isn't a problem and then getting to under 20% moisture content. Using a wood/brush chipper is one thing, drying and getting them to a consistant size uses way more energy and time then it is worth.

May 3, 2008 · Having a leaf blower to blow air on a fire really help burn wet wood. Also as said earlier the heat from the burning will hurt the soil. So make one burning area and use that. You can use a strap or chain pile the brush on it wrap it around the pile when done and drag it with a fourwheeler or tractor to the burn area.

Feb 22, 2010 · Once you are left with the stumps, I would roll them out into a new pile to get rid of a lot of the dirt before burning. Burn on a cool rainy day and be sure that you have cleared an ample firebreak around the pile. Be wary of sparks that could ignite grass away from the fire. As mentioned, the piles could smolder for days after you start the fire.

May 1, 2011 · Last time I had a massive brush-pile blaze, it took years for grass it to fill back in and grass seed would not take root at first. I have read that ash is high in pH and soluble salts, but I haven't found how to get the soil back in shape. Any suggestion to get the soil back faster? RD

Jan 17, 2012 · The trash pumps are usually rated at gallons per hour, and the fire pumps are gallons per minute, trash is 11,000 gph, the fire is like 90 gpm, so so probably fairly comparable, just a matter of how much slips by the trash pumps impeller... which from what I gather is about the only difference between single impeller pumps is the clearances ...

Feb 28, 2012 · I use opti-2, sometimes amsoil sabre, both 100:1, and as soon as I buy a new handheld trimmer, blower, edger, etc. the first thing I do to them, besides adjusting the handle, is removing the spark arrester screen.

Jun 30, 2006 · This only works well with the Panama brand torches since the Sure Seal or Seat Tite brands don't seem to stay lit with the motor oil. I also pour some on the top of brush piles, letting in soak in for a few minutes to help in igniting the brush and to get rid of the oil. I don't pour enough out for it to run off onto the ground.

Dec 31, 2009 · Hello, I'm needing some advice on a brush bandit 150 chipper. It is a 1992 with a Perkins diesel with around 2000 hours. It is up for sale by a private individual. I don't have any experience with brush bandits and I need some advice. Is this a good chipper? I'm just a private tree climber who cuts on the side. On average I do 8-10 jobs a month.
