Jun 14, 2024 · The Novo Nordisk logo is designed with deep symbolism rooted in its legacy. It’s the Apis bull, an Egyptian symbol of health and strength, manifesting the company’s commitment to life-saving medicines.

The Novo Nordisk logo is the Apis bull, one of the sacred animals of ancient Egypt, denoted by the hieroglyph 𓃒. Novo Nordisk is a full member of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).

Our corporate font is called Apis. We use it for everything written. We endorse a distinct use of typography as a signature brand element. Decorative and powerful yet always functional and clear. The regular Apis font package is used for graphics, illustrations, wordmarks, print and screen materials. Everything except Office applications.

Being influenced by the sacred beast, the logotype represents growth and transformation – the core values of the company. Sometimes, the company put the bull above the inscription with the brand name. It is executed in a lowercase typeface without serifs.

Today, NovoPen ® is a design icon and Novo Nordisk continues to pioneer delivery systems that improve quality of life and make managing chronic diseases easier. When Dr Ulla Hedner purified Factor VIIa, she needed a partner to help her produce this life-saving treatment.
