Jun 1, 2023 · I'm about to drop Twitch entirely, I already watch it way less than I use to and the ones I still care a bit about upload to Youtube anyway. Even if it was the only solution, I'd still rather watch a black screen for 2 min than 2 min of ads. But at this point I might drop Twitch entirely, like I said Youtube is filling my media scratch just fine.

Twitch is a tough one though, since you can get ad-free viewing on specific channels for being a subscriber, but that does nothing to help you when channel surfing and getting 30 second ads every time you click on a new stream.

The display ads feature doesn't mean less preroll ads at the current time, unfortunately; Twitch has been still trying to get streamers to run commercials consistently, putting forward the entire Ads incentive program in that veign - these extra banner ads are just for a bit of additional advertising on top of the normal ads.

Dec 14, 2023 · I used the element picker feature from uBlock Origin to block it, but a black bar with no ads still keeps shrinking the stream because I don't know how to block it properly. The element picker showed a link to 7TV extension, so now I'm not sure if it's Twitch doing this or if it's the developer of 7TV that decided to serve ads.

Checking the Ads Manager, the shortest time a streamer can set between ads is 8 minutes. Both ends of that 8 minutes would have 3 minutes of ads. There few possible issues here, Automatic Ad Length & Frequency feature that Twitch has throwing out ads thick and fast.

Aug 3, 2023 · Ive been using "twitch adblock 5.7.0" for a while which still works decently, then i tried TTV LOL Pro 2.1.3 which also works most of the time, but ever since twitch's new measures against adblocks a few weeks ago, i noticed that i might not get ads, but the stream often buffers/lags while playing.
